There is a huge problem with pet overpopulation here in the south. There are thousands of animals being put to sleep in shelters every day. We do our best to save as many as we can. We take the dogs and cats from the shelters, take them to see a vet, get them spayed/neutered, vaccinated and any medical problems treated. Then we list them on our PetFinder website http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/SC321.html and wait for people to apply. When the potential adopters complete the application, we check their references and do a home visit to make sure that it is an appropriate environment for the animal. If the adopter is approved, they come to meet the animal at one of our foster homes. They then sign a legally binding contract stating that they will take care of the animal and provide vet care, etc. Then they take their new family member home!
